Design-z Competition 2025

The design should feature marble fragments (max. 1ft x 1ft, 2in thick) with natural, irregular edges.

Marble should be the primary material; other materials, like wood, acrylic, or glass, can serve as optional accents.

The design should be technically feasible with smart joints and assembly.

The design must serve a purpose and fit within a 3ft cube.

A 300-word concept statement detailing inspiration, sustainability impact and material use.

One A3 panel featuring high-quality sketches and renders that show details and prototype images.

Students enrolled in undergraduate or diploma courses in design and architecture.

Individual entries only. Submissions by groups will not be accepted.

Does the designed product have to be made and submitted?
This is a design challenge. Participants do not have to make or execute the design in physical form.

Who is eligible?
Students in undergraduate or diploma courses in design and architecture. Students must submit proof of enrollment when uploading their submissions. Entries without proof of enrollment will be disqualified.

Is there an entry fee?
There is no fee to participate in the Design-z competition.

Are team entries allowed?
Team entries are not allowed for this edition of the Design-z competition.

Where do I submit my entry?
All entries must be submitted through this <link the form here> official link. Submissions made through any other platform or medium will not be accepted.

Will the organisers provide raw materials?
No, raw marble or material will be provided by the organisers.

Do I need to make a physical model out of marble?
The Design-z competition is a conceptual design challenge. Participants are not required to create or submit a physical model.
